Garmin has released beta software version 18.15 for the Forerunner 265 smartwatch series. This is the first update in the 18.xx cycle for the wearable, despite other Forerunner devices receiving upgrades earlier this year. The software includes several new tools and various bug fixes for the watch.

The Garmin Forerunner 265 and Forerunner 265S smartwatches are receiving beta update 18.15 after a longer than expected wait. This is the first software iteration in the 18.xx cycle for the wearable, though other Forerunner models like the 255 and 965 have already been offered multiple versions.

The Forerunner 265’s beta version 18.15 includes new features seen for the other wearables listed above. These include Auto Activity Detect transition for multisport profiles, a Lap Undo tool and the Jump Rope activity. Also added are the Sleep Coach glance and access to a database with details of various 400m running tracks worldwide. Plus, turn point course navigation and the breadth of headset compatibility have been improved.

Garmin has addressed a range of bugs, deploying fixes for crashes when viewing the weather and text clipping found on the activity summary page. Problems with some of the sport profile settings and the do not disturb mode have been resolved, as has slower than expected notification update data displayed on the watch face. The company notes that the software has been pushed to 20% of eligible wearables at the time of its last post. However, if you have not received the software and want to skip the wait, you can manually search for it by going to Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Update. Owners of a Garmin Forerunner 265 smartwatch who want to join the Beta Program can do so via GCM.
