A relatively new Garmin smartwatch is now eligible for a new software update. Currently restricted to Garmin's Beta Program, the update makes various changes aimed at improved an owner's overall user experience.

Garmin continues to furnish the Forerunner 965 (curr. $599.99 on Amazon) with updates, almost a month after it presented a Release Candidate build (Beta Version 18.12) through its Beta Program. This time, the company has released Beta Version 18.15, skipping versions 18.13 and 18.14 for public consumption.

Despite the revision number jump, Garmin has only disclosed five bug fixes. By contrast, Beta Version 18.12 introduced several new features, details of which we have discussed separately. As for Beta Version 18.15, Garmin states that it should address a problem that caused the backlight gesture to stop working in do not disturb (DND) mode. Additionally, the update should resolve a crash associated with trying to update weather information using invalid location data.

On top of that, Garmin reports that Forerunner 965 owners should no longer experience text clipping issues on the activity summary page. Elsewhere, Beta Version 18.15 is said to fix slow notification updates on the watch face 'notification data field', as well as various sports profile settings bugs. Please see Garmin's forum post for more details, which mentions that you can either download Beta Version 18.15 manually or wait for the update to arrive as part of a phased rollout process.
