Early photos of Google's next wired Nest Doorbell retail packaging have emerged online courtesy of Redditor u/one2zerojigawat. While Google has not officially confirmed the device's existence yet, it has hinted that it has new Google Home hardware waiting in the wings.
Nonetheless, the images presented do not appear to have been doctored in any way. Moreover, they align with Google's recent teaser that any new Google Home devices will support its Gemini digital assistant. Likewise, the company was recently spotted sharing images of the same doorbell ahead of schedule alongside other forthcoming products. To that end, one image prominently shows 'with Gemini' branding on the Nest Doorbell's retail packaging.
Ultimately, the new Nest Doorbell closely resembles the design of Google's existing model (curr. $159.99 on Amazon). However, Google has upgraded the hardware inside the Nest Doorbell to capture recordings in 2K (2,048 x 2,048) with HDR enabled and a 166° field of view (FoV). Whether that correlates with a new sensor in the 3rd generation model remains to be seen at this stage. Currently, Google is expected to release the Nest Doorbell 3rd Gen Wired on October 1 alongside other new Google Home hardware.
