The new TP-Link Tapo P410M, a smart Wi-Fi plug for outdoor use, is on the way. This smart home product was recently demonstrated at IFA 2025, alongside several other products from the brand, like smart security cameras.
The Tapo P410M is a Matter-certified smart plug, meaning it can connect to many other smart home devices and ecosystems. It could be used for solar power monitoring, thanks to its ability to detect the direction of current. Users can view solar saving predictions and energy consumption levels in the app, where they can also remotely switch connected devices on or off.
Through the TP-Link Tapo app, you can set schedules to switch devices on and off at particular times, which could be useful for sprinkler systems. Plus, Away Mode will switch devices on and off at intervals to make it appear that someone is at home, deterring potential intruders. As an alternative to the app, you will be able to remotely control the Tapo P410M with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or Apple Siri voice commands.
Other features include zero crossing detection and protection against issues like overloading. It is IP54 rated dust and waterproof, meaning it can withstand splashes. TP-Link has yet to announce the pricing and release date of the Tapo P410M Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug. In the US, the older Tapo P400M Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug, which has two outlets, retails for $24.99 (curr. $22.49 at Amazon).
