The Philips Hue app version 5.50.0 has arrived for iOS and Android users. It has been released shortly after the brand unveiled a new range of products at IFA 2025.
With software version 5.50.0, the Philips Hue app gets support for the Hue Bridge Pro. As a reminder, this new hub can connect to up to 150 smart lights and 500 accessories, and can store 500 scenes. It is Wi-Fi enabled, meaning a physical Ethernet connection is no longer needed. Plus, users will be able to use their smart lights as motion detectors.
Philips Hue notes that users with an older Hue Bridge will be guided through the migration process to the Hue Bridge Pro, which is documented on the brand’s website. However, users with multiple Hue Bridges will have to wait a little longer for their dedicated migration assistant to arrive.
The company also states that users can now sync Apple Home over Matter. As for HomeKit, users of the Pro Bridge will have to reconnect the two via Matter after migrating. It appears that users of the Hue Bridge will still be able to use the original HomeKit integration.
Philips Hue app version 5.50 also brings support for new products like the Starter Kit Pro (curr. $219.99 at Amazon), the Essential Starter Kit, the A19 bulbs, the Festavia lights and the Essential range bulbs. You can download the update for the Philips Hue app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
