Moto G84 5G: Motorola lines up Indian release for new Snapdragon 695 and 120 Hz pOLED mid-range model

Motorola has now started teasing the Moto G84 5G, less than a day after leaker @stufflistings revealed a few details about the upcoming mid-range smartphone. Surprisingly, the Moto G84 5G features the same Snapdragon 695 5G chipset as the Moto G82, which Motorola announced in May 2022. Likewise, the newer Moto G8 handset will rely upon a 5,000 mAh battery that it can recharge at 30 W, matching both the Moto G82 and Moto G73.

However, Motorola will offer the Moto G84 5G with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage; both the Moto G82 and Moto G73 peak at 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Additionally, the Moto G84 5G will arrive with a 6.55-inch pOLED display that outputs at 1080p and 120 Hz with a 1,300-nit peak refresh rate. According to Flipkart, the display also supports 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage, HDR10+ content and 10-bit colour. Moreover, the handset has a 50 MP optically stabilised primary camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, mirroring the Moto G82.

The Moto G84 5G is IP54 certified though, unlike its direct predecessor. Motorola promises to deliver three years of security updates too, albeit without confirming how many Android upgrades it will afford the device. As @stufflistings claimed, Motorola will start by releasing the Moto G84 5G in India, where it will debut on September 1. While Motorola has not confirmed a global release yet, @stufflistings believes that one will occur later this year.
