Motorola has revealed a launch date for the Moto G54 5G, one of two new mid-range smartphones that the company has in the pipeline. The Moto G54 5G will arrive a few days after the Moto G84 5G, albeit seemingly only in China initially.

Motorola has now confirmed its intentions to replace the Moto G53, a handset that it announced in December 2022. While the Moto G54 5G has not arrived yet, the company has revealed a launch date. Unfortunately, the lack of teasers on Motorola's global social media channel implies that this will be a China-only event.

As the teaser below shows, Motorola will unveil the Moto G54 5G on September 5. Incidentally, the device will debut a few days after the Moto G84 5G, which Motorola will release in India on September 1. Although Motorola has not committed to launching either model globally, we would expect the company to do so at some point later this year.

Based on earlier rumours, the Moto G54 will arrive with a more curved design than its predecessor. Additionally, the device will feature a 6.5-inch display that outputs at 1080p with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This year's Moto G5 will also gain optical image stabilisation (OIS) for its primary camera, which remains a 50 MP sensor. Other details are unknown for now, but Evan Blass has already shared official device renders, one of which we have embedded above.
