Meross launches new Matter-compatible smart plug for outdoor use

The new Meross Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug has been launched worldwide. The product is also known by model number MOP320 and is designed to allow you to remotely control devices on your patio, in your garden or another outdoor space.

The Smart Wi-Fi Outdoor Plug offers two outlets, which can be controlled individually, with a maximum load of 16A 3,680W. Thanks to Matter, this smart home device integrates with many smart home systems, including Apple HomeKit and Samsung SmartThings, and works with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Plus, you can use the Meross app to track your power consumption at each outlet, which could help you lower your energy bills.

The Meross outdoor plug is compatible with various solar systems; you could use the left outlet to track the power generation of your balcony power plant. Other features include the ability to set timers and schedules, or you can align functions to the time of sunrise or sunset. Meross notes that the plug will operate without an internet connection and claims that the device is relatively easy to install. It has a 1.5 m long power cord and IP44 water and dust-resistant housing, meaning it can withstand a range of weather conditions.
