Lies of P sequel name leaked by trademark, confirming Wizard of Oz influence

The Phrasemarker discovered a trademark filing in Europe that validates a popular theory about the Lies of P sequel. Received on September 10th, the Neowiz submission is for game software entitled Wonders of O. The original fairy-tale-inspired action RPG ended with a reference to Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.
“Wonders” could allude to the 1900 novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, written by L. Frank Baum. “O” may simply be an abbreviation for Oz. The pattern also matches the three-word identity of its predecessor, with P as a shortened form of Pinocchio.

The potential theme comes as no surprise to Lies of P players who spotted a famous character in a post-credits scene. Paracelsus mentions a girl called Dorothy, and then gamers see a figure adorned in red shoes walking through Krat.
Unfortunately, the trademark filing doesn’t reveal much else about Wonders of O. The industry has known since late 2023 that Neowiz has been working on a follow-up. After confirming in August 2026 that the Round8 studio had been renamed Nough, the developers provided an update.
Lofty ambitions
In a YouTube video, director Choi Ji-won reassured viewers that the team was prioritizing the new title. He told players, “So please wait just a little bit longer. We won't let you down. I promise.”
Meanwhile, combat director Lee Jeonghyeon intends to devise the “world's greatest action game.” Without hinting at a release date, he said progress was being made “one step at a time.”
Opponents of generative AI may hope that the technology doesn’t impact the appearance of Dorothy or other Wizard of Oz characters. Shortly before the YouTube feature, Round8 listed a job ad for an AI Creator. However, in response to the controversy, Neowiz downplayed the position’s influence on the Lies of P sequel. According to the publisher, all artwork in the title will be the product of human artists.
