The Blood of Dawnwalker's sequel is already in the works as Rebel Wolves searches for a new lead writer

Rebel Wolves’ The Blood of the Dawnwalker has been out for a little over a week and is already a hit, with a million copies sold on launch day. The game has also received stellar reviews, so Rebel Wolves is wasting no time capitalizing on this success.
Actively hiring a lead writer for a sequel
In a LinkedIn post, Jakub Szamalek, the narrative director for the game, announced that the studio was looking to hire a new lead writer for a sequel. The announcement reads:
“The Blood of Dawnwalker released to critical acclaim and sold over one million copies in the opening weekend. But! We're not resting on our laurels - no, siree! We're already thinking about what comes next. And so! Drum roll please! I'm looking for a Lead Writer to help me and the narrative team craft the next chapter in the Dawnwalker saga. We're looking for someone who, to put it bluntly, writes EXCEPTIONALLY well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management. If you meet these criteria - please apply via the link below!”
Most believe this sequel announcement is expected, even as Bandai Namco, the publisher, already announced it when the game was first revealed in October 2024 and introduced it as the first entry in the Dawnwalker franchise. Just a few months ago, the official YouTube channel for Dawnwalker stated that the franchise would “span centuries, continents, and cultures across the globe."
A game universe in the making?
This means that fans could see multiple periods of history explored across sequels, similar to what’s observed in Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise. In a more specific post on the Polish job board “Skillshot”, the requirements for the new lead writer emphasize the need for the "ability to create interactive, non-linear stories and dialogues" and "familiarity with the history and folklore of Central and Eastern Europe."
Irrespective of the angle they wish to explore, it seems that Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco are sparing no time in laying down the foundations of a brilliant franchise.
