Lenovo gives new 15-inch laptop wider international release with 32 GB RAM and over 17 hours battery life
Last month, Lenovo released the V15 Gen 7 with Intel Wildcat Lake processors in Germany. Since then, the company has complemented the laptop with an AMD alternative called the V15 Gen 6. At the same time, it is now selling the V14 Gen 7 and V17 Gen 7 with Wildcat Lake processors too.
Initially, the V15 Gen 7 was exclusive to Germany. For the time being, Lenovo continues to list the 15-inch laptop in the rest of Europe as 'coming soon'. However, it has now reached much of East Asia and Southeast Asia, including Japan and Hong Kong. By contrast, it still remains unclear when the V15 Gen 7 will reach North America, despite regional models still showing on Lenovo's PSREF page.
Setting that aside, the V15 Gen 7 generally starts with the Core 5 315, apart from in Japan where Lenovo installs the lesser Core 3 304 by default. Regardless, even the Core 3 304 ia considerably more powerful than older Intel Twin Lake-based models (curr. $479 on Amazon) in our benchmarks. Moreover, one can configure the Core 5 320 or Core 7 350, which both contain twice as many performance cores as the Core 3 304.
Pricing starts at HKD 8,898, KRW 1,278,400, JPY 125,950, MYR 4,022 and SGD 1,362 (~$1,063) with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a 47 Wh battery. For reference, Lenovo claims that this battery lasts over 17 hours in the PCMark 10 test at 120 nits and nearly as long at 200 nits when idling in JEITA-BAT 3.0. Alternatively, up to 32 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage are available, as are Wi-Fi 7 connectivity and a 1080p IPS display that peaks at 300 nits.
