Lenovo has revealed a new budget 15-inch laptop powered by AMD’s entry-level Ryzen 10 Series processors. It is set to launch globally soon with up to 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a 512GB SSD. Despite the relatively small 47Wh battery, Lenovo claims it can last more than 18 hours.

Lenovo is set to launch a set of affordable laptops from its V series. Just recently, the company unveiled the V15 Gen 7 with Intel's budget Wildcat Lake processors, with early release in Germany. Lenovo is yet to make the new Intel budget laptop available globally.

In the meantime, an AMD-powered V15 Gen 6 has appeared on Lenovo's PSREF website, joining the existing Intel version. The new variant features AMD's affordable Ryzen 10 Series, which uses the older Zen 2 architecture. According to the specifications, it will be sold globally with an Athlon Silver 10, Ryzen 3 30, or Ryzen 5 40 processor, depending on the region. All three are low-power 15W chips designed for affordable laptops, much like Intel's Wildcat Lake platform.

The PSREF listing further reveals that the Lenovo V15 Gen 6 AMD will be available with 8GB or 16GB of soldered LPDDR5-5500 memory. Unlike the newer V15 Gen 7, however, there is no 32GB option. Storage, meanwhile, tops out at 512GB. Although the drive uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface, Lenovo says it will operate at speeds closer to PCIe 3.0 x4.

Elsewhere, Lenovo equips the V15 Gen 6 AMD with a 47Wh battery, which it claims can deliver up to 18.73 hours of local video playback at 200 nits or 17.06 hours in PCMark 10 testing at 120 nits. The laptop can be configured with either a TN or an IPS panel, both with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and 300 nits of brightness. These are fairly basic displays, even compared with other budget-oriented laptops such as the MacBook Neo (curr: $699 on Amazon).

For connectivity, the V15 Gen 6 AMD includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, two USB-C ports with support for up to 65W charging, two USB-A ports, HDMI 1.4, and an Ethernet jack. It also comes with a full-size keyboard and number pad, but no backlight.

Pricing and availability

The Lenovo V15 Gen 6 (AMD) is not available to order yet, but a launch may not be far away. Lenovo has already listed dozens of configurations for countries across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America, pointing to a broad global release. However, exact pricing or availability details are still under wraps.
