Lenovo announces Yoga 520 and Yoga 720 convertible notebooks
The 13.3-inch Yoga 720-13IKB and 15.6-inch Yoga 720-15IKB will launch this April for $860 and $1100 USD, respectively, while the 14-inch Yoga 520-14IKB will come a month later for $800 USD.

Leaked weeks ahead of MWC 2017, the 2017 Yoga refresh will finally be coming this Spring. The new models belong to the mainstream Yoga 500 and 700 series, so the flagship Yoga 900 refresh will have to wait a little longer.

First up is the Yoga 520-14IKB with the following core specifications:

  • Up to Core i7 Kaby Lake (Likely U-class)
  • 14-inch display up to 1080p
  • Up to Nvidia GeForce 940MX
  • Up to 16 GB RAM
  • Up to 512 GB PCIe SSD w/ secondary 1 TB HDD
  • 330 x 235 x 19.9 mm
  • 1.75 kg

The system will also have both USB Type-C and Type-A ports in addition to an optional keyboard backlight and Active Pen. When compared to the existing 14-inch Yoga 510, the 14-inch Yoga 520 is around 1 mm thinner (19.9 mm vs. 20.9 mm) without being significantly heavier (1.75 kg vs. 1.73 kg).

Next up is the Yoga 720 series with new 13.3-inch Yoga 720-13IKB and 15.6-inch Yoga 720-15IKB SKUs. Interestingly, there will be no new 14-inch Yoga 720 SKU to replace the existing 14-inch Yoga 710. Nonetheless, Both of the upcoming 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch models will make use of super-thin bezels not unlike the recent XPS 13 2-in-1, XPS 13, XPS 15, Spectre x360 13, and Spectre x360 15 refresh.

Core specifications for the Yoga 720-13IKB include:

  • Up to Core i7 Kaby Lake (Likely U-class)
  • 13.3-inch display up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)
  • Integrated HD Graphics 620 only
  • Up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Up to 1 TB PCIe SSD (No secondary bay)
  • 310 x 213 x 14.3 mm
  • 1.3 kg

Core specifications for the larger Yoga 720-15IKB are similar to its smaller sibling with the GeForce GTX 1050 being the significant differentiating factor. This alone should make the system one of the most powerful 15-inch convertibles for gaming when it launches this April.

  • Up to Core i7 Kaby Lake (Likely U-class)
  • 15.6-inch display up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160)
  • Integrated HD Graphics 620 or GeForce GTX 1050
  • Up to 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Up to 1 TB HDD or 512 GB PCIe SSD
  • 364 x 242 x 19 mm
  • 2.0 kg
