Best Buy is currently selling the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i for $679.99. It features a 15.3-inch IPS touchscreen with a resolution of 1920 × 1080, full sRGB coverage, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 400 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood is an Intel Core 7 350 processor (2x P-cores, 4x LP E-cores) paired with 16 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Both the RAM and storage are user upgradable, although the former is limited to a single DDR5 SODIMM slot and the latter to an M.2 2242 slot (Transcend 1 TB SSD curr. $289.99 on Amazon)
Connectivity consists of a 5 Gbps USB-C port (DisplayPort 1.2, Power Delivery), a couple 5 Gbps USB-A, HDMI 1.4, an SD card reader, and a 3.5 mm audio combo jack. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are also available.
The laptop's plastic chassis measures 13.52 × 9.43 × 0.74 inches (343.4 × 239.5 × 18.9 mm) and weighs 3.51 lb (1.59 kg), while housing a 50 Wh battery capable of charging at up to 65 W with the included barrel plug power adapter.
We recently reviewed the Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i and liked it for its battery life and fairly low chassis temperatures under load. The main drawback is the limited video output capability (4K@30Hz over HDMI, 4K@60Hz over USB-C).
