Qualcomm has only showcased Snapdragon X Elite reference devices to date. However, a reliable leaker has now provided an early look at the Yoga Slim 7 Snapdragon Edition, which shares its design with the x86 version of the same laptop, but with one unusual omission.

WalkingCat (@_h0x0d_) has provided a first look at what is likely Lenovo's debut Snapdragon X Elite-powered laptop. For context, Qualcomm has only showcased the Snapdragon X Elite in reference devices so far, an example of which we recently spent some time with. WalkingCat has now changed that by leaking official-looking photos of what they refer to as the 'Yoga Slim 7 14(.5) 2024 Snapdragon Edition'.

Presumably, the 'Snapdragon Edition' of the Yoga Slim 7 retains the same display size as its x86 counterpart, which spans 14.5-inches across and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. For reference, we reviewed the Yoga Slim 14 G9 earlier this year with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor and an OLED display. Unfortunately, it remains to be seen whether the newer Snapdragon X Elite model will match its AMD or Intel counterparts in this regard.

However, the images that WalkingCat has shared confirm that the Snapdragon Edition will not carry across all the I/O that x86 versions of the Yoga Slim 7 contain. On the one hand, three USB Type-C ports can be seen, two on its left-hand side and one on its right-hand side. Additionally, Lenovo has included a webcam shutter and power button next to the latter Type-C port, just like last year's Yoga Slim 14 G8.

Moreover, the Snapdragon Edition features top-firing speakers and a large trackpad that is slightly offset towards its left-hand edge. Lenovo's recognisable key caps remains too, which delivered 1.5 mm of travel on our Yoga Slim 14 G8 and Yoga Slim 14 G9 review units. On the other hand, the Snapdragon Edition lacks a 3.5 mm jack, unlike its x86 counterpart. While a release date remains unknown for now, the Yoga Slim 7 Snapdragon Edition is unlikely to arrive before the similarly-equipped consumer versions of the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6, which are both rumoured to debut next month on May 20.
