OnePlus' line of tablets is quite confusing considering the different names it goes by in various markets. For example, the OnePlus Pad 2 sold in Europe and the US is sold as the OnePlus Pad Pro in China. Then there's the OnePlus Pad which launched last December but has no similarities to the OnePlus Pad (available on Amazon for $450.29) that was unveiled in the US and Europe in early 2023.
Now key specifications of a new tablet which is reported to be called the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro have leaked, but it is not known if it will launch as the successor to the OnePlus Pad 2 sold outside China, and even if it does, it may even go by a different name entirely.
According to a post by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro will have a 13.2'' display that is an LCD panel with a 3.4K resolution. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the same chipset inside the OnePlus 13 which means the tablet will be a flagship.
The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro will have up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. There's no mention of storage expansion, but there likely won't be one since the OnePlus Pad 2 doesn't have a MicroSD card slot. The source states the tablet will have a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.
OnePlus will also equip it with a battery capacity of over 10,000mAh that supports either 67W or 80W fast charging. While not stated, the tablet should run ColorOS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. If it gets a global release, it should come preinstalled with OxygenOS 15. Based on its flagship specs, we can expect it to have features such as stylus support and an optional keyboard folio for those who want to use it for work.
There's no info yet on when it will be announced but according to the source, it is one of two Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered tablets scheduled for release in the first half of the year.
