Philips Hue Secure video doorbell could be on the way

Rumors suggest that a new Philips Hue Secure video doorbell could launch later this year. This would be the first device of its kind from the brand, which currently offers a range of smart lighting products, home security cameras and contact sensors.

The rumored Philips Hue Secure video doorbell could launch alongside a chime device, producing a sound to notify you of visitors. If this new smart home device is indeed released, it is highly likely that users will be able to remotely control it through the Philips Hue app, as is the case with other Hue Secure devices. This would also allow you to connect the doorbell to other smart home devices for triggered actions; for example, you might be able to switch on a smart light near your front door when the bell rings.

This recent report speculates that a Philips Hue Secure video doorbell could launch this fall, a time at which new Philips Hue products are generally released. However, Signify, the company behind the Philips Hue brand, has yet to officially acknowledge this device. It would compete with the Philips 7000 Series Video Doorbell (curr. $199.99 at Amazon); it is worth noting that this is a product from Philips, not the spin-off company Signify.
