SwitchBot appears to be extending its range of smart lighting products with the new Floor Lamp. The company currently sells the Ceiling Light in Japan, and in North America and Europe it offers smart lighting accessories, like the Smart Switch button pusher (curr. $29.99 at Amazon).
Now, the SwitchBot Floor Lamp has received Matter certification from the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA). In the CSA listing, SwitchBot describes its upcoming product as a “fashion decorative light” with a concealed light source. It appears that it is designed to be placed next to a wall, off which light can be reflected. According to the page, it uses three independent lamp beads for RGB (color), CW (cool white) and WW (warm white) lighting, expected to run for 25,000 hours. Plus, there is said to be a range of dynamic lighting effects, including a music-syncing mode.
With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, users are thought to be able to control the smart light remotely via the SwitchBot app, where you can set up a lighting schedule. Plus, support for Matter means that the product can be integrated with smart home ecosystems like Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. Unfortunately, it is currently unclear when or where the SwitchBot Floor Lamp will launch and how much it will cost.
