The Philips Hue Secure Camera USB-C power cable has been launched worldwide. As its name suggests, the accessory is designed to charge or power Philips Hue Secure cameras like the Hue Secure Wired camera (curr. $89.99 at Amazon). It was announced in January but has only recently begun to roll out.
The Hue Secure Camera USB-C cable delivers up to 24W power. On one end are the proprietary Secure camera contacts, and on the other is a standard USB-C connector. The 9.8ft (3m) length should allow you to position your smart home security cameras in many places. This is the standard cable length for wired cameras, so there is no advantage here for customers. However, it could be a useful replacement if an old cable is broken or misplaced.
It is worth noting that the accessory is only suitable for indoor use, and it does not come with a power supply. Customers can choose from black or white cables, though only one length is currently available. Whether other variants could be offered in the future remains unclear. You can now buy the Philips Hue Secure Camera USB-C power cable 9.8ft (3m) in countries including the US, the UK and the Netherlands for $19.99/£16.99/€19.99. The product has a two-year warranty and is available via the brand’s online store.
