It has been almost nine years since we last saw LG’s most ambitious TV concept, but at CES 2026, the Wallpaper TV is officially back. It's called the LG OLED evo W6 (the W stands for wallpaper) and it's a revival of the ultra-thin TV that the South Korean electronics maker first showcased in 2017.
Zero Connect Box keeps cables out of sight
LG bills the Wallpaper TV as its thinnest wireless OLED TV yet, measuring 9mm thick—though it’s actually thicker than the previous model, which was just 2.57mm thick. The original W7 was a marvel of engineering, but it came with a mandatory soundbar that housed the TV’s primary electronics and inputs and connected to the TV via a cable. The new model offers a cleaner setup as it uses a Zero Connect Box that houses all the inputs and transmits 4K video and audio wirelessly from up to 10 meters away.
LG claims the W6 isn't just about aesthetics; it packs an OLED panel with LG’s new "Hyper Radiant Color Technology", promising improved brightness, color, and contrast. It’s said to be 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs, though the company doesn’t share exact peak or HDR brightness numbers. The Wallpaper TV also promises the lowest reflectivity of any LG TV and is the only OLED TV to earn Reflection Free Premium certification from Intertek.
The W6 runs the latest webOS with voice-based profile switching, AI-powered content discovery, and LG Gallery+, which turns the screen into a rotating art display when you’re not watching anything.
Under the hood, it is powered by LG's Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen3 and resolves at 4K and 165Hz, with support for Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium built in. Similar to the rest of LG’s OLED TV lineup, the W6 also includes the LG Gallery+ service with over 4,500 images to display.
Pricing is still a mystery, but it's expected to be more reasonable this time
The return of the W-series is a big flex for LG’s display division, and while the 2017 model launched at $7,999 (with the 77-inch model commanding an eye-watering $19,999 price tag), the company appears to be aiming for a more palatable price this time. There’s no word on exact pricing (or availability) yet, but LG did confirm to Tom’s Guide that it won’t be far off from its other premium OLED TVs.
The Wallpaper TV will be on display at the LG Electronics booth (#15004, Las Vegas Convention Center) from January 6-9.
