LG's XBOOM series is often worth a look, as they can be high-powered speakers in relatively compact or portable form-factors. Its 2019 iterations are not exceptions to this rule. They range from entire sound-systems to smart speakers with inbuilt screens.

LG's XBOOM series for this year is a departure from the norm in that some of these models have in-built Google Assistant. However, others are more dedicated speakers of various types, yet often have portability or connectivity in mind. Their availability and pricing schemes in the US have just been released.

The CM4590 is at the higher end of audio power among the 2019 XBOOMs. It is a Bluetooth mini-shelf music system that delivers a total of 700 watts (W) in 2.1-channel sound. The CM4590 also has a built-in subwoofer and supports Sound Sync Wireless to connect with an LG TV. It is trailed in wattage terms by the 550W RK7 loudspeaker.

This unit has an X-grip handle for enhanced transportability, and Wireless Party Link. This is a feature that allows multiple speakers to form a single wireless system. The RK7 is also compatible with others of the 2019 XBOOM speaker line-up, including the RL3 tower to round it out.

The LED-enhanced LG XBOOM Go series (PK7, PK5 and PK3) are tuned by the British audio experts Meridian for audio depth and impact, as are the WK9 and WK71 XBOOM AI ThinQ Google Assistant-enabled smart units. They are priced at US$249.99 and $199.99 respectively. The PK7, PK5 and PK3 are priced at $229.99, $129.99 and $89.99, whereas the loudspeakers range from $349.99 for the RK7 to $149.99 for the RL3. Finally, the CM4590 comes in at $149.99.
