The LG V30 and V30+ were released a few months ago, with both devices running on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box. Users in South Korea, however, have started receiving Oreo beta updates. We expect an international rollout soon.

The LG V30 and V30+ have started receiving Oreo betas today. The devices were launch at the tail end of August but don't seem to have gained as much market traction as one would expect, an occurrence that seems to be the norm with LG of recent, considering the commercial failures of its high-end devices released in the last 18 months.

The update is only available to users in LG's home South Korea, with users who want the update needing to join the beta program first. Slots are supposedly limited, though. The update is said to be a 1.2 GB download—about par with what we've seen from other Oreo updates, and comes with the November 1 security patch. A user ran the Treble ADB check on it and received a negative result, which means that Treble isn't implemented in this particular build.

We've had reports of Oreo on the LG G6, but there's been nothing concrete so far. There are also rumors that devices like the V20 and G5 will receive Oreo within the next few months but we wouldn't place much stock in that considering LG's less than stellar record in the update department.
