An LG G6 has been spotted on popular benchmark platform Geekbench, Android Oreo in tow. There are no specifics about when the device will receive the Oreo update but G6 users can now be confident that they'll get it.

More flagships are getting started on the journey to Oreo, with Samsung, Sony, Huawei, HMD, and OnePlus ahead of the pack at the moment. LG may be the next to join that motley crew, as an LG G6 has been spotted on Geekbench running on Android Oreo.

LG has a rather patchy history of releasing updates, so it's somewhat damning of the OEM that, before this, users of the G6 were not 100% certain of their chances of getting Oreo. In fact, users of the LG V20, a flagship launched about five months before the G6, are yet to receive confirmation as to whether they'll be receiving the Oreo update.

This is but just a Geekbench listing but it, at the very least, gives G6 users something to look forward to. It's still unknown when they'll get the update, as LG has kept mum on the issue.

We'll be sure to keep you updated on this.
