Most flagships released in 2017 have received updates to Android Oreo, or beta versions of it in any case. LG, in typical fashion, slinks forward at the back of the pack, with the company yet to push out full updates to any device. The V30 received Oreo betas a while ago, but only to users in South Korea. The G6 also began its Oreo beta testing program, but with a demographic limited to just users in China. According to reports, users of the G6 may have a full Oreo update on their hands as early as February.
Of course, we wouldn't take this at face value, as the source of the information was a customer service agent. According to the report, the version of the device billed for the update is the H870S model, one built for the Middle East/ Russia. Users in other regions may have to wait a while longer.
Meanwhile, there's still no word of an update for the LG V20, a flagship launched running Android Nougat out of the box—the first of its kind, actually—about 14 months ago. LG's track record with software updates gets spottier as the days go by.
