Intel showcases Lunar Lake-powered Tencent 3D gaming handheld at CES 2025
Intel and Tencent collaborated to bring an interesting glasses-free 3D gaming handheld. This device was initially announced in China back in November last year, and at CES 2025, it was fully showcased. As the initial announcement revealed, it's indeed a pretty large device.
To be specific, the Tencent 3D gaming handheld comes with an 11-inch display. That makes the Sunday Dragon larger than the Legion Go, which was already considered to be pretty huge for its 8.8-inch screen. However, unlike the displays on the regular handhelds, the panel on Sunday Dragon comes with "naked-eye 3D" tech, which is paired with an "image interlacing algorithm."
That makes the 120 Hz display of the Tencent gaming handheld capable of offering "naked-eye 3D visual effects." At the initial announcement, the company said that the device is already optimized with a good number of PC games, including Blade & Soul, Path of Exile, and Arena Breakout: Infinite. It's unclear whether the company has made more progress in this regard.
On that note, just like the Lenovo Legion Go, the joy cons of the Tencent Sunday Dragon are detachable. There's also a built-in kickstand on the back, which allows users to set the device up on top of a flat surface.
As for the hardware, the Tencent 3D gaming handheld packs the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V. It's one of the top-end options in the Lunar Lake lineup, and it features the Arc 140V iGPU, making it stand as a proper competitor against MSI Claw 8 AI+ and the upcoming Ryzen Z2 Extreme handhelds.
There's still no word on when the Tencent Sunday Dragon will be available to purchase, and Intel didn't share the price range either. However, given that it has been showcased at CES 2025, there's a high chance of it being available in the global market soon (Z1 Extreme ROG Ally curr. $499.99 on Best Buy).
