IKEA releases new portable Bluetooth speaker with playful design

IKEA has launched a new product in Europe: the Grejsimojs Portable Bluetooth speaker, mouse/purple. The Grejsimojs range, with playful designs geared towards kids, launched earlier this year. Other recently released products include the dog-shaped Grejsimojs LED table lamp.
The IKEA Grejsimojs Portable Bluetooth speaker has a 1.6-inch full-range driver, with a frequency range of 150-19,000 Hz and a maximum sound pressure level (SPL), or volume, of 73.8 dB. Via Bluetooth, users can connect their phone, tablet or laptop to listen to the music, podcast or audiobook of their choice. While this speaker offers a multi-speaker mode to boost your listening experience, it is worth noting that it does not have a stereo mode, and it does not support Spotify Tap. Other IKEA speakers, like the Solskydd, offer both a stereo mode and Spotify Tap.
IKEA’s Grejsimojs speaker should run for around 24 hours on its built-in battery. It recharges via USB-C, though users will need to supply their own USB-C cable and USB power adapter. The product is described by the company as a “musical mouse”, which could be used to play music to dance to in the kitchen, or stories in the child’s bedroom at night. The IP44-rated product has a purple plastic casing with four legs and two ears. Sound comes out of the mouse’s ‘face’, and a carry loop at the rear is made to look like a tail. It measures 8.6 x 13.0 x 9.0 cm (~3.4 x 5.2 x 3.5 inches).
You can now buy the IKEA Grejsimojs Portable Bluetooth speaker in countries like the UK, Germany and Sweden for £12.00/€14.99/SEK179. It is unclear whether or when this product could be released in other markets.
