JBL has officially introduced the BandBox series. The lineup includes the BandBox Solo and BandBox Trio, both of which combine an amplifier with a portable Bluetooth speaker. Both devices are scheduled to become available in February 2026 and are priced at $249 and $599, respectively.
In addition to the typical JBL sound, both speakers offer AI-based real-time separation of vocals and instruments, integrated effects and various tools. The intelligent Stem AI technology can isolate, reduce or remove individual elements of a song such as vocals, guitar or drums, which allows for customized tracks that are tailored to the player’s own instrument. The song itself remains intact, while specific components are selectively removed or reduced in volume. This makes these speakers particularly suitable for musicians when practicing, jamming and performing.
The compact JBL BandBox Solo is designed for solo musicians with an RMS output of 18 watts. The device is equipped with a guitar and microphone input, which makes the gadget suitable for guitarists, singer-songwriters, and hobby musicians. Other features include effects such as reverb, phaser and chorus, as well as a looper, pitch shifter and tuner, all of which are accessible via the JBL One app. The BandBox Solo can be connected to a laptop via USB-C to directly transmit audio.
The JBL BandBox Trio also offers some more advanced features. These include four instrument inputs, an integrated four-channel mixer and enhanced adjustments for level, tone, and effects. It also supports up to ten hours of playback via a full charge of the replaceable battery. Additional specs such as the 135-watt output with a 6.5-inch woofer and two 1-inch tweeters, microphone effects and a color LCD screen round out the feature set of the JBL BandBox Trio.
