JBL has announced eight Tune headphone models for 2026 at CES, the 780NC, 680NC, 730BT, 530BT, 530 Wired, 530C - USB-C, 235BT, and 135BT, which can be broken down into four categories.
The upper-end 780NC and 680NC models introduce active noise-cancellation to the Tune line-up and are priced at the top end of the range. The former uses 40 mm drivers while the latter uses 32 mm drivers. Both are rated for up to 76 hours of runtime between charges. These Bluetooth 6.0 headphones support multipoint connections and LE Audio, which uses the lower-power, higher-quality LC3 codec instead of SBC. They also feature two beamforming microphones for reduced background noise during calls.
The mid-range 730BT uses 40 mm drivers, while the 530BT uses 33 mm drivers. The former supports Bluetooth 6.0 and LE Audio with the LC3 codec, while the latter only supports the ordinary SBC Bluetooth codec.
Two models are designed for users who prefer a cabled connection. The 530 Wired model swaps out the 530BT's wireless connection for a wired cable, allowing it to support Hi-Res Audio. The 530C - USB-C model uses smaller 12.5 mm drivers, while adding IPX4-rated water resistance, an in-line three-button control with a mic, and a USB-C cable.
Two entry-level modesl come with the fewest features. The 235BT uses 12.5 mm drivers and has IPX4-rated water resistance, while the 135BT uses 8.6 mm drivers. Both are rated for up to 25 hours of runtime between charges.
The wired and wireless models are priced from $34.95 to $149.95. The entry-level 135BT and 235BT will be available in January 2026, while the rest will be available in June 2026. The 730BT was previously announced last November in Japan and is already on sale there. Readers can look for the new models in the JBL store on Amazon US.
