Sony confirms WF-1000XM6 release date in first official teaser

Sony has finally confirmed that it is on the verge of launching new earbuds. For context, the announcement comes just over two weeks after Sony released the LinkBuds Clip globally. By the looks of things, Sony's next pair of earbuds will be higher-end alternatives to the LinkBuds Clip.
Officially, the company has said very little about what it has in store. Although the teaser is light on details, the design elements that can be seen closely match a recent leak showcasing the WF-1000XM6 in two colour options. As a result, it seems likely that Sony is finally preparing to replace the WF-1000XM5 that debuted in July 2023 (curr. $149.99 - refurbished on Amazon).
Sony will present its 'next generation of earbuds' on February 12 at 16:00 UTC. While Sony may remain quiet until then, Monday's leak has already revealed key design elements. Compared to the current WF-1000XM5, the WF-100XM6 adopt a more compact shape and a narrower charging case.
Nonetheless, it appears that Sony has improved active noise cancellation (ANC) or its transparent mode between generations, given the inclusion of an additional microphone grille. The WF-1000XM6 is expected to land for $329.99 in the US and €299.99 in the Eurozone. Reportedly, Sony will offer the earbuds in three colour options; only two have leaked so far, though.
