Hyperkin teases a new color for its PlayStation-style Xbox controller

Last year, Hyperkin released a wired controller for Xbox consoles called The Competitor. Since its release, it has been available in two colors, but Hyperkin has teased a third color option will soon be announced.
Priced at $49.99, Hyperkin's The Competitor is available to buy in either black or white. However, a teaser posted on the manufacturer's X account confirms a third color is on the way. Based on the included image, this new color seems to be purple with a matching detachable cable. Hyperkin hasn't revealed the release date but says it is coming soon.
Despite being made for Xbox, The Competitor controller has a design similar to that of the DualSense controller for the PS5. Apart from having symmetric Hall Effect thumbsticks, it also has a translucent segmented D-pad like the DualSense controller. Other features of the controller include two programmable and lockable back buttons, Hall Effect triggers, a dedicated mute button, and swappable stick caps.
In addition to compatibility with the Xbox Series X|S, The Competitor (available on Amazon for $51.02) is also compatible with Xbox One consoles and Windows PCs. There's no setup needed as it works once you plug it in. Hyperkin says the controller is perfect for Game Pass and PC gaming.
