Fight Knight is an unusual first-person dungeon crawler focused on hand-to-hand combat and packed with indie charm. Its original story also helped the RPG earn very strong reviews. Thanks to the current 95% discount, it has now dropped below $1 for the first time.

Fight Knight is a fast-paced first-person dungeon crawler with a refreshingly original concept, and it has never been cheaper on Steam. The 2021 title from Team Sorcerobe normally costs $19.99. The current 95% discount brings the price down to $0.99. According to SteamDB, the game had previously been discounted by up to 94%, but this is the first time it has fallen below $1. With its “Verified” status on Steam Deck, the deal should also be worth a look for owners of current gaming handhelds.

Instead of swords or magic, Fight Knight is all about hand-to-hand combat: punching, dodging, blocking and counterattacking. Battles play out in real time, but remain grid-based, adding an extra tactical layer. The story is both strange and dark: a giant tower suddenly appears out of nowhere. Anyone caught in its shadow is trapped in eternal night. Naturally, adventurers still venture inside, as a great reward is said to await at the very top. The catch: the tower is full of creatures it has already devoured.

Around 1,600 reviews have been posted on Steam so far, with 91% of them positive. RPG Fan awarded Fight Knight 85 out of 100 points. The gameplay was generally well received, with praise for the varied enemies, creative puzzles and strong pacing. The title also radiates plenty of indie charm. “Everything screams personality,” the reviewers wrote. Points were deducted mainly for issues with controls and quality-of-life features: somewhat imprecise inputs can take away from the fun of the combat system. The game also often sends players quite far back after death. Anyone with some tolerance for frustration and an appetite for an unusual dungeon crawler RPG should get their money’s worth here.
