Huawei has just released some details on another new product for its increasingly large-scale event later in December 2021. It is the OEM's latest generation of smart glasses. They are speaker-enabled wearables like their predecessors, although they will ship with Huawei's own software.

Huawei is no stranger to the release of smart glasses; however, the next generation of this line is now slated to be the first that run on HarmonyOS. The OEM asserts that the wearables will deliver “intelligent life with an assistant”.

The new product is also now depicted as modular to some degree, in that their entire front, lenses included, can be swapped out thanks to connectors on the ear-hooks. Accordingly, they seem to be of the type with inbuilt speakers and possibly hands-free voice assistant controls, but without active lenses of any kind, again thus far.

Then again, these new glasses appear to be a departure from their predecessors as there is no evidence of a Gentle Monster designer tie-in this time around. Nevertheless, it is already clear they come in a choice of 2 face-plate styles thus far.

Huawei should clarify this and many other points on the subject of the new Smart Glasses on December 23, 2021, whereupon they will debut alongside other devices such as the Watch D, P50 Pocket and MateBook X Pro.
