Hands-on photos and leaked packaging have already revealed plenty of information about the Watch D. However, Huawei has now confirmed its release date and its certification as a medical device. So far, Huawei has published a single teaser image, along with an accompanying post on Weibo.
As the images below show, the Watch D will debut on December 23 at 15:30 China Standard Time (CST) (UTC+08:00). The teaser image also confirms the design presented in the leaked hands-on and packaging photos, discussed separately.
Additionally, Huawei states that the Watch D has received certification as a Class II medical device from the China Food and Drug Administration. Hence, the company can sell the smartwatch in its home market with blood pressure, and ECG functionality enabled.
The Watch D will launch in China alongside the P50 Pocket. Currently, Huawei's global Twitter page only mentions the P50 Pocket, not the Watch D. Potentially, Huawei will initially restrict the Watch D to a China-only release. The smartwatch is expected to arrive globally, eventually.
