China will reportedly hold an International Public Security Expo from December 26 to 29, 2021. Now, according to a new leak, Huawei's HiSilicon is scheduled to attend with a new chipset. It may have a focus on imaging rather than, say, full smartphone control as earlier in its history.
This ISP is already projected to have a unique architecture, as one might expect from a dedicated subsidiary instituted to design completely in-house chipsets. Accordingly, the rumored chip might join the ranks of others such as Xiaomi's recently-unveiled Surge C1, not to mention Vivo's V1.
Therefore, there is a chance the ISP is destined for applications such as those found in Huawei's future smartphones. HiSilicon may also unveil its latest developments in the areas of "immersive" imaging, as well as "visual computing", which could be interpreted as having their roots in virtual or augmented reality (VR/AR) and machine learning respectively, during the upcoming Expo.
