VR mods for Resident Evil 2 and 3 are now available on GitHub
Resident Evil 2 and 3 VR mods are now available on GitHub. The mods have been built by praydog, a software developer, who provides them both for free and open source.
Praydog has enabled you to play both games in first-person, giving you head-based movement, as well as providing full motion controller support. Other features of the mods include watching cutscenes in 3D without cutting to a virtual window and realistic weapon collisions, such as physical knife damage and grenade throwing.
These are not the first Resident Evil games you can play in VR; Resident Evil 4 was officially launched on Oculus Quest 2 last year, and Resident Evil 7 has been available exclusively on PlayStation VR for some time. praydog also suggests that they are working on a complete mod for Resident Evil 8, with work in progress motion control currently available on GitHub.
To play the mods, you will need to own the original copies of each of the games, plus a device with sufficient power to allow you to run the additional VR elements. You can download the mod v1.1 files from GitHub, which you will need to extract to run on SteamVR.
