Oculus has released another software update for Quest devices, named v37. This update focuses on productivity features and improved user experience.
When using Oculus gadgets, you can see and use a 3D representation of certain keyboards in VR. The tool, available in your Home environment, also shows your hand position. As part of the v37 update, Apple's Magic Keyboard has been added to this feature's list of supported devices.
The v37 update also aims to make sharing links between your phone and headset easier. Now, Android devices can share links with Quest headsets via Bluetooth, with the link automatically opening in your VR browser. Oculus has stated that it hopes to release an iOS version of this feature shortly.
A hand-tracked gesture feature has also been made available through the update. This tool lets you speedily call up the QuickAction menu for actions such as taking screenshots. You need to hold your hand palm-up and make a pinching motion to use the gesture.
Also included in the software update are new tablet and desktop modes, giving you the option for a simpler view and more straightforward navigation between apps. The Explore page has been redesigned too, including new fitness and productivity sections.
The update has started to roll out. However, Oculus has flagged that it is being shared in phases, so it is not available to all users just yet.
