Leaked Huawei Watch D hands-on photos confirm design, blood pressure monitoring and ECG functionality
Huawei is expected to unveil the Watch D on December 23, albeit perhaps only in China. The Mate V is tipped to launch simultaneously too, along with other smartwatches and TV-related hardware. While Watch D packaging has already leaked, someone has now posted hands-on photos with the upcoming smartwatch.
As we have discussed separately, the leaked packaging images confirmed that the Watch D would rely on HarmonyOS 2, mirroring the Watch 3, Watch GT 3 and the Watch FIT mini. Hands-on photos match the marketing render emblazoned on the device's box, although its display bezels look slightly thinner than the render implies.
Incidentally, the device shown below matches images that have been circulating for months. However, these new images clarify that the Watch D has a dedicated home button and another for 'health'. Presumably, pressing this button will trigger the Watch D's built-in health app.
Additionally, other photos demonstrate that the Watch D can take an ECG, measure your blood pressure and monitor your heart rate. Based on a recent patent publication, the Watch D will be more accurate at measuring blood pressure levels than competing smartwatches, such as the Galaxy Watch4 series.
