Huawei P50 Pocket camera details revealed as front design showcased in a new official teaser
Last week, Huawei partnered with Harper's Bazaar China to feature the P50 Pocket, the former's next foldable smartphone. As we discussed separately, the promotional images showed the P50 Pocket from several angles, albeit without giving too much away.
Now, Huawei has published a marketing render on Weibo that highlights the device's front design. Embedded above and below, the image reinforces that the P50 Pocket has three cameras and an LED flash contained within a circular housing. As expected, Huawei has included a circular secondary display, complimentary to the 6.85-inch main display.
According to @RODENT950, the P50 Pocket relies on the Sony IMX766 as its primary camera, the same sensor that Oppo used to demonstrate its in-house retractable camera technology. The leaker adds that the P50 Pocket also has a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 MP telephoto camera that offers 3x zoom. Presumably, @RODENT950 means 3x optical zoom, rather than digital zoom.
Moreover, @RODENT950 claims that the P50 Pocket has a 'drop hinge structure' that should result in a minor display crease. Apparently, the P50 Pocket will close without leaving a gap, mirroring the Oppo Find N. Unsurprisingly, @RODENT950 expects the P50 Pocket to have poor battery life. Still, it will recharge its battery at up to 66 W.
Huawei will announce the P50 Pocket on December 23. The smartphone will arrive alongside at least the Watch D, the company's first smartwatch that can monitor blood pressure levels.
