Huawei has announced the launch date of its next foldable smartphone on its global Twitter channel. Thought to be called the Mate V, the device will actually arrive as the P50 Pocket. As the teasers show, the P50 Pocket will debut on December 23, the same date and time as the Watch D's launch. Presumably, Huawei will reveal the pair simultaneously.
Incidentally, Huawei has only published P50 Pocket teasers on its global Twitter channel and no Watch D ones. Seemingly, the P50 Pocket will be available globally, despite Huawei's ongoing issues with the US. Currently, Huawei can produce devices with 4G modems, like the P50 and P50 Pro. Nothing has changed in that regard, so the P50 Pocket could launch with a Snapdragon 888 4G SoC.
Based on previous leaks and the teaser image below, the P50 Pocket will be a clamshell smartphone, like the Galaxy Z Flip3 and the Moto RAZR 5G. The P50 Pocket is expected to feature three rear-facing cameras and a round secondary display. The inner foldable display is tipped to have an almost invisible crease too, unlike the Galaxy Z Flip3.
