Apple has affirmed that it will reveal its latest round of hardware soon, in the wake of a (probably deliberate) spoiler on the subject dropped by its AI assistant Siri. This show is projected to include first looks at some 2021 iPads. Huawei clearly thinks so too, as it has set its own "new tablet" launch on a collision course with the Cupertino giant's event.
The Chinese OEM must be confident indeed in its upcoming slate - which might in itself indicate that it is to be the MatePad Pro 2. This device is rumored to rock the Kirin 9000 SoC, as well as an option on a 12.2-inch OLED panel from Samsung, as well as inbuilt 5G connecitivty, thus far.
The Pro 2 - or possibly Pro 2021 - may also launch with HarmonyOS out of the box. This rumor might actually gel with Huawei's pretty overt Apple-baiting in its latest announcement: the newly-designed UI is thought to have a partially macOS-inspired dock for its new form-factor.
This new software just might be a Chinese-market exclusive - on that note, there have been few signs that the second-gen MatePad Pro will make it far outside its native country.
