Huawei is on a roll with smartwatch updates. No sooner has it updated two, than it has updated another. This time, the company has issued a new update to the Watch GT 2 Pro, its flagship smartwatch. Huawei released the Watch GT 2 Pro in October 2020, but it is very similar to the Watch GT 2 that it launched a year earlier.
Nonetheless, firmware version 11.0.5.22 optimises the Watch GT 2 Pro in a few ways. According to Huawei Central, 11.0.5.22 refines the user experience when using the lock screen, although it is unclear what changes Huawei has made. Similarly, the new update supposedly optimises system stability, an impenetrable phrase if there ever was one.
11.0.5.22 is rolling out now via the Huawei Health app, albeit only in China for the time being. Typically, Huawei upgrades devices in its home market first, so Watch GT 2 Pro's in other regions will probably receive a comparable update within a month or so. Please keep in mind that your smartwatch must have at least 20% charge before the Huawei Health app starts transferring an update file across.
