Huawei releases popular blood pressure smartwatch in another market

The Huawei Watch D2 smartwatch is now available in India. This popular model was launched in September 2024, and it is already available in markets including China, the UK and the EU. 

In India, the Huawei Watch D2 will be available through retailers like Amazon and Flipkart for Rs. 49,999 (~$563). However, it is currently available at Amazon Marketplace for Rs. 34,499 (~$389), and the company has announced a launch offer reducing the price to Rs. 33,499 (~$337) from October 3rd through 5th. Customers can choose between black and gold colorways.

Huawei’s Watch D2 has a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with 1,500 nits peak brightness. It offers ambulatory blood pressure monitoring thanks to an ultra-slim mechanical airbag measuring 26.5 mm (~1.0 inches) thick. Users can take readings on demand or schedule measurements for the future. The Watch D2 has been certified as a medical device by CE-MDR in Europe, and also has similar certification in China, but it is unclear whether the equivalent Indian body has given its seal of approval.

Blood pressure is one of 10 health indicators on the Watch D2, which also includes heart rate and heart rate variability, and it also offers pulse wave arrhythmia analysis. Other features include sleep tracking, exercise logging with over 80 modes on offer, and smartphone notifications. It should run for around six days with typical use, and is relatively slim and lightweight, measuring 48 x 38 x 13.3 mm (~1.9 x 1.5 x 0.5 inches) and weighing 40 g (~1.4 oz) without the strap.
