Huawei Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro to receive global release first before home debut
It is no secret that Huawei has a suite of new wearables on the way. On the one hand, the company announced the global launch date for the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro at the end of last month. On the other hand, a recent leak indicated that these will likely be joined by the Watch Ultimate 2 during the same event, just like the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 before them (curr. $599 on Amazon).
Surprisingly, Huawei has now confirmed that its new wearables will land globally before they make their debut in its home market. While the company has not emphasised as such, it has already committed to unveiling the Watch GT 6 and Watch GT 6 Pro globally on September 19. By contrast, the Watch GT 6 series will not reach China until September 24.
Typically, the company's release schedules run in the opposite order. For instance, the Mate XTs landed in Huawei's home market earlier this month. However, Huawei has not provided any suggestion when its latest tri-fold will be available internationally. Instead, this week's global launch event will centre on new wearables.
Based on WinFuture's recent Watch Ultimate 2 leak, one of the main upgrades with Huawei's next wearables will be the adoption of silicon carbon batteries for a reported 65% capacity uplift between generations.
