We were impressed with the Pura 70 Ultra's cameras when the HarmonyOS flagship finally got to us for testing. Now, its upcoming successor is backed to be even better in these terms with an improved 1-inch sensor.
It might be particularly capable of integrating with the rest of the Pura 80 Ultra's system as it will be made by Huawei's Xmage division itself rather than a third-party supplier such as Sony, according to the legendary leaker Digital Chat Station.
The potentially ground-breaking imaging tech might also go well with the 80 Ultra's periscope zoom lens, as both cameras are tipped to support the RYYB pixel-matrix technology often hyped to boost light sensitivity in new smartphones.
All of the Pura 80 Ultra's rear cameras might also have the variable aperture technology that might confer even better control over their light intake.
Then again, these new rumors are still apparently based on engineering samples of the smartphone in question, which dovetails with another report that Huawei will allegedly leave its Pura 80 launch event until after that of the Pocket 3 in 2025.
