Huawei Nova 13 Pro specs emerge following pre-launch Geekbench appearance
Huawei is currently taking reservations for its Nova 13 series in China, yet does not intend to reveal its specs in full until its formal introduction on October 22, 2024.
The line-up is thought to consist of vanilla and Pro variants (with no Ultra in sight this time), one of which is thought to have surfaced on Geekbench as the Huawei MIS-AL00.
It has been identified as the 13 Pro by ever-present leaker Digital Chat Station (DCS), possibly because it has 12GB of RAM to go with a processor of the exact same characteristics as that from an earlier leak associated with the first-gen Nova Flip.
Should that be the case, the 13 Pro has gotten more out of the Kirin 8000 than its clamshell cousin, with a relatively improved multi-core score of 2,900. Then again, the Flip somehow got an exact 1,000 in single-core scores, and the 13 Pro has done no better in that regard.
The smartphone will use these internals to run HarmonyOS 4.2 out of the box, (doubtless mistakenly detected as Android 12 on Geekbench) on a 1.5K quad-curved screen of consistent bezels, and charge as fast as the upcoming OnePlus 13 at 100W, according to DCS.
The 13 Pro is also now tipped to reprise the Nova-series signature 50MP variable aperture main rear camera and dual selfie cameras with a 60MP primary lens and optical zoom.
Finally, Huawei might not be able to call the Nova 13 Pro a 5G smartphone outright (again) - but might market it as the mid-tier market's latest Beidou satellite-messaging handset.
