The Nova 12 series has now been officially acknowledged as smartphones that will reprise the uniquely embossed rear panels of their predecessors. They are made of vegan leather, which allows the material to be molded right around the updated camera island, which has its headline upgrade conveniently stamped along the edge.
Accordingly, this sneak peek of the Nova 12 design confirms an upgrade to an "adjustable (f/1.4-f/4.0) physical aperture" lens, thought to be reserved for a top-end Ultra variant. It is paired to a main 50MP RYYB sensor, which will have 2 back-up lenses and a flash. The final look is touted to reflect the smartphones' "outstanding youthful nature" with at least 1 rich blue colorway.
The Nova 12 Ultra is also now tipped to launch with the Kirin 9000S processor, albeit a down-clocked version. All in all, the premium mid-rangers are also thought to act as a warm-up act of sorts for a flagship P70 series of a similar design. They might start doing so in earnest from December 26, 2023, with Chinese celebrity @TFBOYS-Yi Yang Qianxi as their new global spokesperson.
