Reviews for the Honor MagicBook 16 2022
The new MagicBook 16 from Honor succeeds the MagicBook Pro and offers a 16.1-inch IPS display with 144 Hz and a fast AMD Ryzen 5000 processor. However, the 65-watt power supply is problematic, as it is too weak for this system.

It's hard to sing the praises of a device - whether that's a phone, a laptop or a tablet - with poor battery life. And there is a lot of good work on the MagicBook 16 that's undone by its limited power source. But then again, you do get more than you should for the price, including a six-core AMD processor, a stunning display, a (mostly) solid body and an attractive design. Most laptop manufacturers would charge you a lot more than £800 for such things, so take it for what it is. It's the technological equivalent of Cinderella's pumpkin carriage: it doesn't last long, but it's absolutely magical while it does.

The Honor MagicBook 16 is a great value performance laptop that combines a bunch of admirable characteristics. It has a nice all-metal shell. Its screen is large but the laptop itself isn’t so big and heavy you’ll avoid carrying it around. The display delivers good colour and powerful maximum brightness. Like several Honor laptops, the MagicBook 16 is a top deal. Just don’t come expecting an actual miracle. The touchpad is plastic, and its tacky surface pulls off a much less persuasive impersonation of glass than some. Those spotlight-stealing speakers? Nah, they’re no good. And while the Ryzen 5 5600H packs a punch, its performance in the games we tried is a little worse than what you’d get from a low voltage Intel CPU laptop, which looks much less powerful on paper.

You can use the Honor MagicBook 16 (2022) for just about any task from office work to light PC gaming. It has a big screen, decent performance and it looks great too, with a sleek modern design and slim bezels around the FHD screen. The battery life isn’t amazing so this might not be a great choice if you plan to use it out and about, but it barely takes any time at all to charge so it’ll be fine for taking between rooms in your house or office. If you need a well-rounded 16-inch laptop that won't cost you the earth, and you don’t mind the average battery life or the sheer size of it, the Honor MagicBook 16 (2022) is worth adding to your shortlist.

Much like its Honor and Huawei forebears, the MagicBook 16 is a solid and competent laptop that does little wrong. It has power enough to quickly chew through the majority of everyday computing tasks and, although the integrated GPU is rather feeble, it isn’t notably worse at gaming than any other laptop running Intel’s Iris Xe integrated graphics. In the end, the only reason the MagicBook 16 doesn’t get five stars is that the battery life is mediocre. If, however, you’re purchasing a laptop for mainly home use that won’t see much in the way of use on the road, then this is a very good option.

AMD Vega 7: Integrated graphics adapter of the Ryzen APUs based on the Vega architecture with 7 CUs (= 448 shaders) and a clock speed of up to 1,600 MHz.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.

In 2014 Huawei created the sub brand Honor and offers certain smartphone series under this name. Occasionally the products are also called Huawei Honor.
The market share of Honor products is manageable, but there are several reviews on Honor smartphones with average ratings (as of 2016).
79.02%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
