The Home Assistant 2025.11 release has arrived. This is the latest version of the open-source smart home automation software. It follows the October update, which added an automation editor, new tile card features and an experimental Home dashboard.
With Home Assistant 2025.11, users are receiving a new target picker tool, designed to change the way you build automations. You can now see the exact device and area linked to an entity, which could be helpful in situations where you have multiple similar smart home devices, like three ceiling lights. There are cosmetic improvements for the automations editor, with a larger font and a two-pane layout, making it easier to add triggers, conditions and actions.
The change log for Home Assistant 2025.11 notes that users now have more flexibility when naming entities on a dashboard. They can choose to show the entity, device, area, floor, or a combination of these titles. Plus, the option to set a custom name remains. On top of this, there is a new pie layout for the device energy graph, an alternative to the existing bar chart format.
New integrations have arrived for Actron Air air conditioning controls, the iNELS smart home system and Nintengo Parental Controls. Plus, there are improvements to the SwitchBot integration, which is now compatible with garage door openers, and the Yardian integration for the Smart Sprinkler Controller (8 Zone, curr. $179.99 at Amazon) now supports binary sensors. The complete change log for Home Assistant 2025.11 can be found on the company’s blog.
