The Mediatek Helio P35 MT6765 is a mainstream ARM SoC for smartphones that was introduced late 2018. It integrates eight ARM Cortex-A53 cores in two clusters (big.LITTLE). The four performance cores clock up to 2.3 GHz, the four efficiency cores with up to 1.8 GHz. The integrated graphics card is PowerVR GE8320 and clocks with up to 680 MHz. The integrated memory controller supports LPDDR4x with 1500 MHz or 933 MHz LPDDR3. Furthermore, a LTE radio with Cat-7 DL (300 Mbps download) and Cat-13 UL (150 Mbps upload) and a 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi modem is integrated.
The Samsung Exynos 850 is a System on a Chip (SoC) for entry level smartphones (Android based). It was announced in May 2020 and the first device with it is the Samsung Galaxy A21s. The chip integrates a processor with 8 small ARM Cortex-A55 cores that clock with up to 2 GHz (octa core).
The multi threaded performance is quite good thanks to 8 cores, the single threaded performance suffers a bit from the small A55 cores, although the clock rate of up to 2 GHz can help a bit.
Furthermore, the SoC integrates a LTE modem (Cat.7 2CA up to 300 MBit/s download, Cat.13 2CA 150 MBit/s upload), a Wi-fi 5 modem (802.11ac), LPPDDR4x memory controller, eMMC 5.1 flash memory controller and a video engine for FHD 60fps encoding and decoding (H.265, H.264, VP9).
It is manufactured in the modern 8nm LPP process at Samsung and should offer a good power efficiency and therefore it is also suited for small smartphones.
The Allwinner A523 is a very affordable ARM-based SoC for smartphones and tablets. The eight-core processor presented in 2023 consists of two quad-core clusters, each made up of 4 Cortex-A55 cores.
The faster quad cluster operates at a clock frequency of up to 1.8 GHz and offers 128 KB L2 cache per A55 core, while the second cluster clocks at up to 1.4 GHz and only offers 64 KB L2 cache per core.
In another version of the Allwinner A523, the first quad cluster clocks at up to 2.0 GHz. The ARM Mali-G57 MC1 is used as the graphics unit, which supports OpenGL 3.2, Vulkan 1.0 and OpenCL 2.0. A XuanTie E906 RISC-V PMU is also integrated.
The Allwinner SoC can control up to 4 GB DDR3/DDR4/LPDDR2/LPDDR3/LPDDR4/LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory. In addition to PCIe 2.1, USB 3.1 Gen. 1 and Gigabit Ethernet are also supported as interfaces. There is also an H264/H265 video decoder (up to 4K at 60 frames per second) and an H264 encoder (up to 4K at 25 frames per second).
The Allwinner A523 is manufactured with a 22 nm structure width.
