HP's new LaserJet printers are the world's first with quantum-resistant protection

At Imagine 2026, HP has announced two new printers under its LaserJet series that are designed for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) with limited or no IT support. Scheduled for release in May, the printers will be sold as the HP LaserJet Pro 4006dw and the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4112fdw.
According to HP, the two printers are its most productive monochrome printers in the SMB laser portfolio. They are easy to set up and manage, cost efficient, and also have security features to protect against evolving threats.
The two LaserJet Pro printers offer automatic two-sided printing, which HP claims are the fastest in their class. They also use HP's TerraJet Toner technology, which helps reduce ongoing printing costs by up to 25% compared to the previous generation. This new generation TerraJet Toner has a smaller cartridge, is designed for low-energy printing, and allows for printing 11% more pages while using less toner.
Another feature of the new printers is protection against quantum computer attacks. HP says they are the first printers in the world with this feature. To make managing the printers easy, businesses without a dedicated IT team can use the smart print hub to simplify setup and printer management. There's also HP AI which optimizes document formatting, removes ads and white spaces from emails and web pages, enhances the quality, and automates naming and sharing.
The HP LaserJet Pro 4006dw is only capable of printing unlike the HP LaserJet Pro MFP 4112fdw which has print, copy, (color) scan, and fax functions. Both printers have a color touchscreen but while the former has a 2.4-inch display, the latter has a 4.3-inch display. Both printers have a max print resolution of 1200 x 1200 and can print an A4 page in just 3.8 seconds.
HP says the pricing for the printers will be revealed when they are close to launch in May 2026.
